“ Super nice espresso, coffee, croissant and bread chocolate. The espresso is my favourite. The aftertaste is lingering. The croissant and the bread chocolate are very soft. Their surface is crispy. As shown in the photos, their bread consist of multiple layer. This shows that their seriousness in preparation. Fantastic. The interior and the exterior areas of the cafe are spacious and clean. The attendants are friendly and diligent. A place tourists must visit ”
“ Great food!! The waitress was a bit rude but maybe we should expect that from a touristic place. ”
“ We came here to have a coffee and ended up returning for lunch again. The quality of the breakfast, especially the pain au chocolat as well as the amazing moules mariniers for lunch were outstanding. Staff has been extremely busy and forgot a thing or two but the overall experience has been great. ”
“ This place is FOR REAL. We had such a good meal here. The wine was excellent, but the food was off the charts. The stuffed mussels were a great start, and then we had the tuna tartare and baked fish of the day (it was sea bream today). Everything was cooked to perfection, and the sunset was beautiful. We couldn’t have had a better dinner on the port! Many thanks to the friendly staff. ”
“ If you are an even vaguely liberated woman you may have had the pleasure of dining alone. If, in addition, you are unusually fortunate you might find yourself facing that eventuality in the vibrant and quintessentially Mediterranean town of Marseille. If this is you, let Au Doyen be the place. Be served by a chic maîtresse d’hôte and a staff of delightfully polite and unremarkable male waiters who won’t judge you for ordering moules frites as early as 7pm. Enjoy an expansive view of the renowned Old Port, which is undeniably THE place for seafood, while sipping a glass of vin blanc as crisp as birdsong in winter (see Haiku by Wendy Cope). The ambiance is lively yet peaceful and at the height of the tourist season, no reservation is necessary for a waterside table. Sincerely, Au Doyen provides an impeccable basis for truly immersing oneself in the pleasures that our foremothers fought for, as well as drafting a Google review. Vive la France ”
